Faridabad is an industrial city that has become a commuter one, and both halves are still visible. The manufacturing belt along the Mathura Road corridor is the older identity; the sectors along the Violet Line of the Delhi Metro are the newer one, and the line is the single most important fact about getting around — it puts central Delhi within a manageable trip and makes the sector numbers the way people describe where they live.
