Delete your account
You can delete your Cosmic Match account and everything stored with it at any time, from inside the app. You do not need to give a reason and you do not need to ask anyone.
How to delete it
- Open Cosmic Match and go to Account.
- Choose Delete account and confirm.
- That is all. The deletion happens immediately.
You are signed out as it completes. There is no waiting period, no email confirmation step, and nothing queued for someone to action later.
Consider exporting your data first. The same Account screen has an Export my data option that gives you a copy of what the app holds about you. Once the account is deleted there is nothing left to export.
If you cannot reach the app
If you have lost access to your phone number, or the app will not let you sign in, email care@cosmicmatch.in with the subject Delete my account, from the email address on the account or quoting the phone number it was registered with. We confirm the request came from you, delete the account, and reply to confirm. We aim to do this within 7 days.
Those identifiers are what prove the account is yours — they are the only ones we hold.
What gets deleted
Everything tied to your account is removed permanently:
- Your login, phone number and email address
- Your profile — name, gender and preference, bio, what you are looking for, lifestyle, interests, prompt answers, education and profession
- Your birth date, birth time and birth city
- Your calculated Sun, Moon and Rising signs
- All of your photos, including the stored image files and everything recorded by the moderation scan about them
- Your face verification record, if you have one
- Every like and pass you made before introductions replaced them on 26 September 2026
- All of your introductions and matches, including why you ended one if you said, and the Aura noticed something notes on them
- All messages and voice notes you sent, removed from those conversations, together with the stored audio files
- Your Aura: what the app has learned about you from your profile, your messages and your This or That answers, every answer the AI model gave about you, and your thumbs up and down on Your Aura
- Your This or That answers
- Your chat options, and the record of when you opened each conversation or a match's profile
- Your invite code, and any free Pro days an invite earned you
- Your read/unread state
- Your last known location, and the match radius you chose
- Your payment records, and any tier attached to the account
- Your notification tokens, on every device
Nothing is retained by us in a recoverable form and there is no hidden grace period. We do not keep a shadow profile.
One exception, if you joined on somebody's invite. We keep a scrambled, one-way code made from your phone number for 90 days — never the number itself, and nothing can turn the code back into one. It is there only so the invite reward cannot be collected again and again by deleting an account and joining afresh on the same number. After 90 days it goes too. See the Privacy policy.
Text the AI model has already read. To build your Aura, and to write the shared note on a match, your bio, interests, prompt answers and typed messages were sent through OpenRouter or the Vercel AI Gateway to the company that runs the model. They keep that text under their own terms, so deleting your account cannot recall it from them. The Privacy policy explains this.
This cannot be undone. Deleting your account does not deactivate or pause it — the data is gone. Any paid tier on the account ends with it and nothing is refunded. If you sign up again later you will start from scratch, with a new profile and no previous matches or conversations.
If your account has been banned
Deleting a banned account does not lift the ban. The block on your email address and phone number is stored separately from the account and outlives it, so deleting removes your data without restoring your access — and afterwards there is nothing left to review. If you only want to change something
You do not have to delete your account to fix your details. Birth data, bio, photos, interests, prompts and preferences can all be edited in the app, or we can correct them for you if you write to care@cosmicmatch.in and tell us what to change. Your phone number is the one thing that cannot be changed.
If you simply want a break, signing out is enough. Your position stops counting after 30 days without the app being opened, so a dormant account quietly stops being introduced to anyone without you deleting anything.
