Somewhere on the way home for one of you, most of the time. Bandra and Lower Parel do a lot of the work because both are reachable from either line, Fort and Kala Ghoda get the weekend version, and a walk along Marine Drive or Carter Road is the fallback when the café is full. Pick a place near a station and the evening gets easier for both of you.
How far is too far in Mumbai?
It is about the commute, not the distance. Andheri to Churchgate looks long on a map and is routine on the fast line; a short hop that needs two changes and a rickshaw at the end is the one people quietly cancel. Say which station you are near early on, and let the other person do the same, and you will both save a fortnight of polite scheduling.
